TULSA, OK -- The Indian Health Care Center is expanding. They broke ground Tuesday morning on an addition to their facility at 5th and Peoria.
The 26,000 square foot addition will allow the health center to move all of its services back under one roof.
Right now the programs are spread out because the Health Center has outgrown its 10-year-old facility.
The expansion is good news for patients.
"So we will not be having to refer patients from here to there and back again because it does make it very inconvenient because a lot of our patients don't have transportation," said Carmelita Skeeter, Indian Health Care.
The $6.5 million project will take about 18 months to finish.
