TULSA, OK -- A survivor of Tulsa's Race Riot was remembered during a funeral service Tuesday morning in Tulsa.

Thelma Knight was 6-years-old when the Tulsa erupted in racial violence. She died last week in Dallas, Texas at the age of 94.

"But obviously, she is a wonderful model for motherhood, for being a Christian woman, for being a grandmother. I think that lasting legacy will certainly resonate for many years to come," said Pastor Anthony Scott with the First Baptist Church of North Tulsa.

A 2008 PBS documentary "Before They Die" also featured Knight's story.
