Some Tickets Written For Fireworks In Sand Springs

SAND SPRINGS, OK -- The City of Sand Springs says the town's fireworks permits this year were both a boom and a bust.

City leaders say they issued nearly 220 permits, down by about 50 from last year.  Police and firefighters patrolled neighborhoods to make sure residents had permits and were complying with rules.

Officers wrote 13 tickets and eight warnings to violators.
