TULSA, OK -- Tulsa County Assessor Ken Yazel announced Wednesday he will seek re-election to a third term.
"It is my intention to seek another term as your Assessor and to continue working diligently for the citizens who have placed their trust in me," said Yazel.
Yazel was elected Assessor in 2002.
"We still have work to do," he said. "There is still a lot I hope to accomplish, such as free and open access to your records: an assessor's Web site for public access to our 262,000 parcel database"
In addition to serving two terms as County Assessor, Yazel served more than 20 years as a Marine. He was also recognized as the Marine Corps' top budget officer.
Yazel said one of his major accomplishments in office was serving as chairman of the committee that returned the Tulsa County Jail to the control of the Sheriff's Office.
