TULSA, OK -- More than $1.6 million in federal money is on its way to build a Tulsa park and improve two trails.

About $600,000 from federal grants will be used to pave the Joe Creek Trail in south Tulsa and add striping, retaining walls and signs.

In Midtown, money will go to the Midland Valley Trail. It will be widened, get new safety features, as well as benches and water fountains.

The rest of the federal money will go toward establishing the John Hope Franklin Reconciliation Park north of downtown.
