WYANDOTTE, OK - An Ottawa County boy was revived Wednesday after nearly drowning at a campground.
The boy is believed to be between 7 and 10 and was attending Sycamore Valley Recreational area near Wyandotte with a Miami summer children's program.
The boy was transported to a Joplin, Mo. hospital, said Virgil Crowder, campground owner.
"In 36 years I have never had a drowning," Crowder said. "I've had thousands of kids come here and swim."
Crowder said although he was not at the scene, it is believed the child was in waist-deep water and the incident occurred before noon.
