STROUD, OK -- A popular Route 66 restaurant is back in business a year after fire ripped through the Stroud landmark.
On Friday, many of the Rock Cafe's loyal customers loaded up on old favorites from the grill, which has been around since 1939, just like the restaurant. The grill is one of the few things salvaged from the May 2008 fire.
The owner of the cafe says while rebuilding was tough, the cafe was worth the wait.
"I'm ecstatic," Dawn Welch said. "I'm overwhelmed with the bonus that I got to keep all my employees. We're all here together and all of my customers are back, so it's amazing."
The restaurant is now open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
