OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma State Department of Health says the number of confirmed swine flu cases in Oklahoma has jumped to 38.

The department announced 12 new reports of the H1N1 virus yesterday on its Web site. On Thursday, there were 26 cases.

Of the new reports, five are in Oklahoma County; four are in Tulsa County; two are in Kay County and one is in Cleveland County.

The Health Department says 53% of those who have fallen ill are children under 18 and the age range is now 11 months to 61 years. On Thursday the age range was 3 to 61 years.

A spokesperson could not immediately be reached for comment.

The Health Department says three people who had underlying medical conditions were hospitalized, but almost all have recovered.
