TULSA, OK -- An Oklahoma soldier hit the tarmac Wednesday just before storms hit.

Cpl. Natalie Vogt was her mom's birthday present. After 15 months in Iraq, the Army medic is back home in Claremore.

"Couldn't be more excited," said Ted Vogt, Natalie's dad.

"We're both about to bust," said her mom, Emily Vogt.

Cpl. Vogt says she was overwhelmed by all the people and banners that welcomed her home.

"We don't like to think of ourselves as heroes or anything special, but deep down inside it's nice to know that people support us," she said.

Her next stop is Fort Sill, where she'll complete her nurse's training.
