TULSA, OK -- Tulsa readers are using bunnies to help calm children at crime scenes.
The Borders Bookstore on 81st Street has been selling stuffed bunnies and collecting them for the Tulsa Police Department.
Officers keep the stuffed animals in their patrol cars, then hand them out to children while they're on calls.
"It's amazing when you've got a small child there and they're crying and are just upset, you know, you go out to your car and hand them a bunny and they'll just hold on to it for whatever, maybe its five minutes of relief or maybe it's a day of relief. But just the fact that they're getting something, something that's like a stuffed animal, it just brings comfort to them. It's amazing," said Officer Leland Ashley with the Tulsa Police Department.
Police picked up more than 250 bunnies from the store.
