Oversized Load Damages Tulsa Highway Sign

TULSA, OK -- An oversized load was four inches too tall for a bridge on U.S. Highway 169 north of Tulsa. 

Tulsa Police say a southbound semi carrying an oversized load struck the bottom of a highway sign at 46^th Street North. 

The bridge itself was not damaged. 

Police say the oversized load permit probably led to the accident. 

The permit stated the load could go as far south as 36^th Street North before it had to exit. 

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation closed a southbound lane of Highway 169 while they inspected the bridge and the sign. 

No one was injured in the accident.
