LANGSTON, Okla. (AP) - The National Weather Service has issued a preliminary EF-1 rating for a tornado that damaged four homes in Logan County.
A survey team from the weather service visited the area Sunday after the damage was reported from storms that moved across the state a day earlier.
The weather service estimates that wind speeds ranged from 90 to 100 mph and a tornado approximately 150 yards wide was on the ground for less than a half-mile.
One home had its second story almost completely destroyed, while other homes had walls, windows and roofs damaged. Trees and power lines were also knocked down in the area.
The weather service has not been able to determine yet whether damage in Woods County was caused by a tornado or straight-line winds.
