TULSA COUNTY, OK -- A 28-year-old man died Wednesday in a single-car crash in west Tulsa County.

Harlan Drake of Tulsa died in the wreck which happened at about 5:30 p.m. near Coyote Trail and 193rd West Avenue, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol accident report.

Troopers say Drake was traveling at a high rate of speed when he swerved and crashed into some trees.

Drake was ejected several feet and died at the scene.

The crash tore the car into multiple pieces.

Troopers say they found the body of a freshly-killed squirrel at the scene, leading them to speculate the driver lost control of the car while attempting to miss it.
