OOLOGAH, OK -- A leased ambulance is on its way to the Oologah-Talala Emergency Medical Services District after a fire destroyed one and damaged another.
The fire started in the engine of an ambulance that was inside the station. It melted some other equipment that was nearby. It also ruptured a water pipe, which kept the fire from spreading.
The department says they have two ambulances to cover a normal shift, but no back-ups, so they're leasing one until the ambulance that has smoke damage is back in service.
