TULSA, OK -- A young student's wish is living on, despite her death.  Students at Lindbergh Elementary held a walk-a-thon to raise money for a new track.

Jazzalynn Smith would have been a first grader at the school this year, but she died unexpectedly over the summer.  At the first PTA meeting she went to with her mom, she brought up the safety of the school's track and said students needed a new one.

"We've decided that we're going to dedicate the new track to Jazzalynn.  That was her goal, she wanted to have a new track to be able to walk and help her lose weight and be healthier," said Darlene Rawlings with Lindbergh Elementary PTA.

Jazzalynn's mother has stayed on as a member of the PTA to see the project completed.
