MUSKOGEE, OK -- A federal judge in Muskogee has ordered a former Muskogee Police officer to serve 48 months in prison, followed by 36 months of supervised release.
Broken Arrow resident 31-year-old Kris Ledford was sentenced to prison on charges of possessing stolen firearms and claiming he had won a purple heart. He pleaded guilty in November to those charges.
Federal officials say Ledford was involved in the taking of nine guns from the Muskogee Police Department property room.
Ledford is to report to prison on May 15.
Ledford still faces state charges in Cherokee, Tulsa and Wagoner counties.
