Tulsa Police: Heroin Overdose Blamed For Death

One person is dead and another is in critical condition at a Tulsa hospital following what Tulsa Police say was a heroin overdose overnight.

TULSA, OK -- One person is dead and another is in critical condition at a Tulsa hospital following what Tulsa Police say was a heroin overdose overnight.

Tulsa Police say it all happened just after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of South Fulton.

Witnesses told Tulsa Police two men had come to a nearby house but quickly left.

Then about an hour later, the witnesses noticed a car sitting outside. When they went to check, they told police officers, they found one victim on the ground beside the car and another victim inside the car slumped over the wheel.

Tulsa Fire and EMSA were called to the scene.

The victim on the ground, 36-year-old James Plunk was pronounced at the scene, the victim in the car was taken to a Tulsa hospital.

Tulsa Police tell the News On 6, Plunk's death was due to a heroin overdose.

The name of the second victim has not been released.

Tulsa Police are still investigating.
