TULSA, OK -- The mother of a 12-year-old boy found outside a suspected meth lab fire overnight has been arrested on complaints of child endangerment, as well as manufacture and possession of a controlled substance.

The fire was in an apartment at the Plantation Apartment complex at 5557 East 47th Street.

The boy, who was not injured, fled the apartment after an unidentified man awoke him.

Tulsa Police say 49-year-old Jamie Ruston was arrested when she arrived at the fire scene.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames pouring from a third story apartment.   Tulsa Fire Captain Michael Baker says firefighters were able to contain the fire to the one apartment.  He says fire investigators found materials related to the production of meth inside the apartment.

Baker says there was an adult male and a 12-year-old boy in the apartment at the time of the fire.  He says the male left before firefighters arrived.

The 12-year-old was taken into protective custody.

There were no injuries.
