TULSA, OK -- Habitat for Humanity homes are being built to better energy standards, thanks to a partnership with PSO.
The electric company donated $150,000 to Habitat for Humanity. The money will allow workers to build about 50 homes over the next two years to energy star standards, including using better appliances, heating and cooling systems and windows.
"That conserves resources, but even more importantly it helps the new homeowner better manage their energy bill and bottom line, save some money," said PSO President Stuart Solomon.
Energy Star homes are 20% to 30% more energy efficient than average homes.
