TULSA, OK -- Tulsa firefighters have a new life-saving tool. On Tuesday, the Tulsa Fire Department received a state-of-the-art thermal imaging camera.
Fireman's Fund Insurance Company and Rich and Cartmill Inc. teamed up to provide a more than $11,000 grant to purchase the handheld camera. Crews use it to see through smoke and darkness to help rescue fire victims.
The department now has 35 of the cameras. They hope to eventually put one on every fire truck.March 24th, 2009
