SAND SPRINGS, OK -- Sand Springs police will have a new hi-tech tool for writing tickets soon.

The city's police department has signed a five-year contract with a company called Anyware Mobile Solutions to begin an electronic ticketing system.

Starting in April, Sand Springs officers won't write paper tickets. Instead, the tickets will be issued electronically using a hand-held computer.

"Citations, warnings, whatever the officer chooses to give. I think this is going to make their job a lot easier," said Mike Carter, Sand Springs Police Department.

The police department says the new ticketing system will make the department more efficient by saving time and paper.
