TULSA, OK -- Huffy the Magic Firefighter Clown has been an iconic symbol in green country for 25 years. Now Huffy is being used, well at least his image is.
Huffy is part of a non-profit organization that works with the Tulsa Firefighters to educate local students on fire safety. Each year Huffy is seen by over 100, 000 children.
A couple years ago, the organization sold t-shirts to raise money for coloring books and other material needed for the presentations.
Right now, the organization has no t-shirts for sale, but someone is trying to sell the Huffy the Clown shirts on EBay claiming to be part of the nonprofit organization. The EBay posting is selling the Huffy the Clown T-shirt for ten dollars.
Tom Hufford who has volunteered as Huffy the clown for 25 years is angry and now his nonprofit group is seeking legal action, but as of Friday March 6, the t-shirt was still for sale on EBay.
"The bad thing is it has my donation letter right on his website like it's me. Tom Hufford with the Tulsa Firefighters educational clowns and it goes towards the safety education but he's selling the t-shirts and we've never seen a penny from this guy," said Hufford.
