TULSA, OK -- Commuters who use the I-244 Bridge near Mingo will need to allot extra travel time.

Drivers can expect various lane closures on northbound and southbound Mingo Road at the I-244/Mingo Road junction until further notice for bridge repairs.

The westbound I-244 ramp and Mingo Road is also closed as part of the project.

The nearly $4 million project includes replacing the decks on three bridges and making repairs to the substructures.

The project is expected to take about 7 months to complete.

ODOT says it will close various lanes and ramps during the project, but it will warn drivers ahead of time. A new traffic warning system will give drivers traffic updates in real time on message boards along I-244.

If you want to bypass the I-244 work zones all together, ODOT suggests westbound I-44 and the BA Expressway can be used as alternate routes.
