Prosecution Rests In Oklahoma Soldier's Trial

Military attorneys have rested their case in the trial of a Fort Campbell soldier charged in the death of an Iraqi detainee.

FORT CAMPBELL, Ky. (AP) -- Military attorneys have rested their case in the trial of a Fort Campbell soldier charged in the death of an Iraqi detainee.

Defense attorneys will call witnesses to testify Thursday in the trial of 1st Lt. Michael Behenna, of Edmond, Oklahoma, who is charged with premeditated murder, assault and making a false statement.

Staff Sergeant Hal Warner of Braggs testified Wednesday in the trial of First Lieutenant Michael Behenna of Edmond.

Behenna is accused of killing Ali Mansour Mohammed in May 2008 near Beiji, Iraq. Prosecutors have said he believed that the detainee had information regarding a roadside bomb that killed two soldiers.
