TULSA, OK -- Love is in the air and it's paying off big for the Tulsa Ronald McDonald House. Tulsa-area McDonalds hoped to raise $100,000 during Tuesday's Day of Love, when they sold hamburgers for 49 cents and cheeseburgers for 59 cents.
They met their goal and then some. They raised a record $128,000. They ended up selling nearly 54,000 hamburgers and more than 170,000 cheeseburgers.
Since 2001, the fundraiser has raised more than $493,000.
