BROKEN ARROW, OK -- A Change of Command ceremony was held in Broken Arrow on Sunday.
Colonel John Lowery handed over command of headquarters at Broken Arrow's Anti-Tank Training Company to Colonel Sam Strotman.
The Marines' Change of Command ceremony happens every two years, but Colonel Strotman said it was something he had wanted for a long time.
"A lot of hard work, the most hard work obviously by the Marines making this happen, setting this up. But yeah, I certainly spent a few years getting ready for today, so I'm excited to be here," said Colonel Sam Strotman, US Marines.
Colonel Strotman will now be in charge of nearly 900 Marines both here and overseas.
