SAND SPRINGS, OK -- Some Sand Springs kids are marching to the beat of a different drum. The school district started a new program called Music Together.
Research shows the program actually helps with brain development, including language skills. Instructors say it is a fun way for kids at the Early Childhood Center to learn.
"They love to be silly and they love to move and so we tap into all their natural strengths," said Music Specialist Teresa Mossburg. "While they think they're playing, we're actually building some brain development and language development and doing all kinds of other things with their brain."
Besides singing and playing instruments in class, the kids get a songbook and a CD, so they can make music at home, too.
