TULSA, OK -- Prosecutors are still building their case a woman accused of murdering a toddler.
Ashley Parnell, 26, is on trial for the death of 2-year-old Skyler Roininen, her boyfriend's son.
An autopsy showed Skyler had an eight-inch crack in his skull.
Prosecutors called two witnesses today, including the boy's father and a police detective. So far, six witnesses have taken the stand.
Prosecutors are expected to call more witnesses tomorrow.
On March 27, paramedics found Skyler unconscious and not breathing. He died the next day at a Tulsa hospital.
Parnell told police Skyler was breathing strangely and had the father call 911.
According to a police affidavit, she also told investigators that she had smoked marijuana the night before. A police search of the home allegedly turned up drugs.
Police also found rat droppings on the floor of Skylar's room and in his bed, the affidavit states.
Parnell has remained jailed on the first-degree murder charge since her April 7 arrest, with bond set at $750,000.
