TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police and Fire are reporting numerous accidents across the Tulsa metro area. Other area communities are also reporting a rash of weather related accidents. A winter storm warning is in effect for parts of Oklahoma Monday through Tuesday as clouds and frigid temperatures bring a chance of freezing rain and sleet.
News On 6 meteorologist Dick Faurot says freezing rain and sleet are moving over northeastern Oklahoma Monday and will result in travel hazards and possible power outages in some locations of the state.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is also reporting numerous accidents on the state's highways and interstates.

Faurot says freezing rain will expand over the eastern half of the state as the day progresses.
While current projections do not support total ice accumulations received in December of 2007, significant icing is possible in some locations across eastern Oklahoma.
Temperatures will basically remain below freezing through Wednesday morning.
