TULSA, OK -- Janae Voelker and Georgia Jones helped give the Oral Roberts women's basketball team a 64-59 victory over Southern Utah on Saturday afternoon in the Mabee Center.
Jones scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Golden Eagles (10-9, 3-5 Summit League), while Voelker had 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
Most of the first half was close until ORU went on a 12-2 run and led by 14 at the break. The teams traded runs in the second half, and the Golden Eagles didn't pull away until they hit their final six free throws in the closing minutes.
SUU fell to 6-13 overall and 2-6 in conference play.
ORU's Mariana Camargo chipped in 11 points, six rebounds and five assists, and Dominique Allen played and started in her first career game for the Golden Eagles, tallying four points.
The women continue action at home Monday when UMKC comes to town for a 7:05 p.m. tip-off in the Mabee Center.
