CLAREMORE, OK -- Saturday is "Change a Pet's Life Day." In Claremore, dozens of people opened their arms and homes to a new furry friend.
As part of the national event, the city's animal control, shelters and rescue groups waved all adoption fees for the first 10 pets adopted.
Organizers say the turnout was overwhelming.
"We started with 20 animals and we are down to 3, so it has been a very successful morning and we're very excited about that," said Cassie Sowers, City of Claremore.
