TULSA, OK -- We are within just a week or so of chocolate season.  It's the time of year when a Valentine message comes in a heart shaped box full of sweet treats.  There is a place in Tulsa where most of those sweet treats are made by hand.

"A confectionery is a place where delicious sweets and confections are created.  Not only chocolate, but also pecan rolls and homemade marshmallows," said Jennifer Brandt.

Some of those marshmallows come covered in toasted coconut.  Others are used in hand-dipped s'mores.

"It's really fun, though.  All the guys come and they line up, and they're all nervous.  They don't know what to pick out," said Jennifer Brandt of Old World Confectionery.

Jennifer and Dan Brandt opened Old World Confectionery near 25th and Harvard three years ago, before that they practiced making different kinds of sweets in their kitchen.  They say a couple of the most difficult to make really well are old favorites like pecan divinity and something called Aunt Bill's brown candy.

"It's an Oklahoma original so we are proud to feature it," said Dan Brandt of Old World Confectionery.

There are also dipped strawberries and chocolate truffles.

They have begun to ship chocolate selections all over the country and around the world.

There are some specialty items they mold at their shop they include a state of Oklahoma, a Sooner Schooner, cowboy hat and boots.

Old World Confectionary is on Harvard just north of the Broken Arrow Expressway.  It's open Tuesday through Saturday.
