Oklahoma's Acting Governor For A Day

Oklahoma School Superintendent Sandy Garrett is acting governor, at least through Thursday.

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- Oklahoma School Superintendent Sandy Garrett is acting governor, at least through Thursday.

Garrett is stepping in while Governor Brad Henry and Lieutenant Governor Jari Askins attend Thursday's BCS National Championship game in Miami, Florida.

The state school superintendent is next in line to take over the duties since state Senate President Glenn Coffe, state House Speaker Chris Benge and Attorney General Drew Edmondson are all out of the state as well.

Edmondson is due back in Oklahoma Thursday evening and will then become acting governor.
