Tulsa Police Divisions Undergo Name Change

TULSA, OK -- The New Year will bring name changes to Tulsa's three police divisions.  The department is renaming the divisions so they'll be associated with general landmarks rather than specific parts of town.

Uniform Division North on 36th Street North will be called the Gilcrease Division.  Uniform Division East on East 11th will now be the Mingo Valley Division.  And, Uniform Division Southwest at 76th and South Riverside will now be known as the Riverside Division.

The exteriors of the buildings are being remodeled to reflect the changes.  The department says the changes won't cost much money.
