UNDATED (AP) -- Oklahoma will ring in the new year with winter-like temperatures, but warmer weather is in the forecast as 2009 gets under way.
The National Weather Service says cold air will filter into the state overnight. But seasonable temperatures are expected through the remainder of the work week.
Another cold front is forecast to push through the state on Saturday. Meanwhile, a southern stream wave will develop over the California coast and move toward the plains early next week.
The chance of precipitation will increase Sunday night and continues into Tuesday. Temperatures will be cool enough to support winter precipitation.
New Year's Eve will be sunny with highs in the 40s and in the 20s and 30s.
New Year's Day will be sunny and not as cool with highs in the 50s and 60s.
