Model A Makes For Complete Hobby

CATOOSA, OK -- If you're still looking for the really unusual Christmas gift for someone who has everything, how about buying them a complete hobby?

It's a Model A Ford and all the parts to keep it running smoothly for a long time.

Someone found it posted on Craigslist, and The News On 6 went to Catoosa to have a look.

Gary Aldridge's dad's shop is complete with a 1930 Model A Sedan and rows and rows of boxes full of radiator caps, speedometers and gears.

He says his Dad bought the Model A to have fun with, to drive in parades, things like that, then of course he had to keep it running.

Aldridge:"He just started working on it, found out he was needing parts, guys were ordering with him. He was ordering parts for guys, it just built up. He thought I might as well start my little parts business," said Aldridge.

Over the years he'd built up quite an inventory, the sedan wasn't his only Model A. Now, he says his dad's health is failing, so it is up for sale.

In fact, there are pages and pages of inventory list, originally the Model A Sedan was not part of the Craigslist posting, but for the right person.

Aldridge's hobby is rodeo, there are not many Model A's in the rodeo, but when the car goes some of his own memories will go with it.

"When I got married, that car was in the wedding, we left the church in that car," said Aldridge.

Here it is car and car parts, a made to order hobby, just in time for Christmas.
