TULSA, OK -- Some Tulsa kids got the chance to learn the basics of baseball on Friday.
More than a dozen players from Wesleyan University in Bartlesville came down to help them get into the swing of things.
Sam Houston Elementary's PE teacher organized Friday's baseball camp.
Jermaine Watkins says baseball isn't as popular as it used to be, especially in the black community and, since he played for Wesleyan and helped coach there last year, he thought this would be a great opportunity to teach kids some fundamentals.
"The kids have been great; the players are loving it. They have some of the best players on the team helping them out. So, it's going really good," said Jermaine Watkins.
"We did some skills and played some games and did some activities, but the main thing was just spend some one on one time with these kids," said OWU Coach Bill Barr.
Besides offering some great pointers, players also signed autographs for the kids.
