TULSA, OK -- A big top experience unlike any other arrives at the BOK Center. The Web Exclusive Team was invited backstage on Wednesday to watch the rehearsal of the show.
Cirque du Soleil's Saltimbanco features a cast of around 50 performers from all over the world. All of the performers have different backgrounds. Some have competed in the Olympics, some in World Championships and they all have one thing in common; Athleticism.
Saltimbanco is the first Cirque Du Soleil show to be presented in an arena like setting. Tulsa is one of forty stops the troop will make this year. The show combines theater, dance, music, and gymnastics. The idea is to take ordinary acts people expect from the circus to a whole new level.
The costumes in the show are amazing. There are 1,200 colorful outfits throughout the performance, and they are all handmade.
"I think that Saltimbanco is a show where people can really be transported from their everyday life. They can forget all of their cares and be brought into this different world, " said head Acrobat Coach Michael Ocampo.
The show runs from Wednesday December 10th to Sunday December 14th.
