UNDATED -- It's been the hot topic among Oklahoma sports fans: who will win the Big 12 South or more specifically, what do the Sooners have to do to play for the conference, and maybe even a national championship?
With one last weekend of regular season play, there are still a handful of possibilities. OU, Texas and Texas Tech are tied at the top of the Big 12 South. Each with only one loss, OU to Texas, Texas to Texas Tech, and the Red Raiders to the Sooners. It is about as confusing as it sounds.
OU jumped back in the thick of a chance to play for the Big 12 Title and then maybe the BCS Title with the 65-21 blowout of Tech on Saturday. As a result, the Sooners climbed to number three in the BCS standings, right behind Texas.
Here's the simple version: OU has to beat OSU on Saturday in Stillwater to be included in any of this.
And, Texas Tech must beat Baylor on Saturday or Texas A&M must beat Texas on Thursday night.
If all three teams win, the Big 12 South Champ will be whoever is ranked highest in Sunday's BCS standings.
In that scenario, the Sooners have a great chance to leap past Texas thanks to how strong OSU has been this season. And then, there's a date with a Missouri team in Kansas City before moving on to a potential BCS Title game.
