MUSKOGEE, OK -- A former Muskogee Police investigator is now facing federal charges.
The U.S. Attorney's office in Muskogee says 30-year old Kris Ledford of Broken Arrow has been charged with one count of possession of a stolen firearm and a misdemeanor count of stolen valor.
The charges were filed in federal court in Muskogee by the Office of U.S. Attorney Sheldon J. Sperling.
A date for Ledford's arraignment in federal court in Muskogee has not been set.
If convicted of possession of a stolen firearm, Ledford faces up to 10 years in prison and $250,000 in fines. If convicted of stolen valor, he faces up to a year in prison and $100,000 in fines.
Ledford also faces charges in Muskogee, Tulsa, Wagoner and Cherokee counties of embezzlement, knowingly concealing stolen property, grand larceny, impersonating a police officer and false declaration of ownership in pawn.
Ledford resigned from the Muskogee Police Department in July.
