TULSA, OK -- Hundreds of Oklahoma seniors are breathing a sigh of relief. Dozens of people called The News On 6 when their Social Security checks didn't arrive on time.
Retired teacher and coach, Charles Teague, says he should have had his check last Wednesday.
"It's our life. When you're living on social security in a nursing home that's your life. And, the first thing that goes through your mind is someone's taken it," said Charles Teague.
Teague's check and hundreds of others weren't taken. They were misrouted by the post office. The problem was fixed on Monday afternoon, and Teague had his check by Monday night.
Local officials say you can get checks directly deposited into your bank account or you can get a debit card. To set up a direct deposit you can call 1-800-772-1213. For a debit card, you can call 1-877-212-9991.
