Thousands To Converge On Downtown Tulsa

TULSA, OK -- The city is getting ready for the 2008 Tulsa Run.

Tulsa Police say motorists should be aware of a number of road closings and related events connected with the Tulsa Run.

Tulsa Police Sergeant Skipper Bain says Denver between 1st and 3rd Street and 1st Street between Denver and Cheyenne will be closed until 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Tulsa Run staging areas and the racecourse will be closed Saturday 6 a.m. to Noon or until the last runner has finished the course.

With over 4,000 runners expected for the annual event, Bain says drivers who are not participating in the Tulsa Run to avoid the area.

Vehicles parked in the staging areas and on the racecourse are subject to tow.
