Apology Wanted From Newspaper

TULSA, OK -- The NAACP is demanding an apology after they say a Tulsa newspaper unnecessarily identified a juvenile.

The organization asked for the apology during a news conference on Sunday afternoon.  Members are upset about a Tulsa World article.

The article was published after four Booker T. Washington High School students were arrested for allegedly bringing a gun to campus on October 1^st.  In it, the World identified one of the students, a 14-year-old boy.  While no laws were broken, the NAACP says the paper put the juvenile in danger.

"The NAACP is not going anywhere.  We are still here fighting for civil rights. We think this is deplorable and we need an apology from the Tulsa World.  And, we will stand firm when these type of things happen," said Twan Jones with the NAACP.

The organization says it plans to discuss the laws related to the release of juveniles' names with legislators.
