Broken and Booker T. Washington both have a fever for impressive wins. BTW has scored at least 40 points in routs of premier 5A powers Carl Albert and East Central. Broken Arrow defeated Union for the first time in 19 years while picking up another victory against Owasso last week.
Here's how this week's game breaks down.
Broken Arrow (2-0)
Ranking: 6A No. 1 in Oklahoma, No. 7 in Midwest Region of USA Today Super 25 Prep Football Poll, No. 37 in ESPN RISE FAB 50
Featured: Through two convincing wins against fellow 6A powers Union and Owasso, Steven Hopper has carried the football 69 times for 262 yards and three touchdowns. Neal Pickney has caught both of Cale Fulps touchdown passes this season.
Key to the Game: If the Tigers continue its tear they will have to do it against a strong Hornet offensive line. This is the first of back-to-back road games for BA.
Booker T. Washington (2-0)
Ranking: 5A No. 2 in Oklahoma, No. 88 in RivalsHigh 100 National Standings
Featured: Dual-threat quarterback Eric Bennett has already thrown for five touchdowns while rushing for three scores in two victories over Carl Albert and East Central.
Key to the Game: Bennett has been poised and dangerous and has been a big reason for both of BTW's two victories. The Hornets face its first 6A competition since losing in the first round of the playoffs to Union last season.
