TULSA, OK -- A fire broke out Sunday morning at a Tulsa elementary school. Tulsa firefighters were called to Mitchell Elementary on 73rd East Avenue, where they found smoke coming from one of the modular classroom buildings behind the school.

"These pre-fab buildings can be flammable, and they have wooden ramps and things like that so a fire that extends outside of the building could spread rapidly to other structures, we were fortunate today that did not occur, they got a good stop on the fire," said Tulsa Fire Department Captain Michael Baker.

Fire crews say the building's air conditioning unit sparked the fire, but it did little damage to the classroom.
