TULSA, OK -- A historic night in Tulsa was capped off with a classic concert. The Eagles officially opened the BOK Center Saturday night before a sellout crowd. Fans began arriving here as early as 1:30 Saturday afternoon, six hours before the concert started.
Classic sounds from one of the most popular bands of all time. Don Henley and the crew rang out of Tulsa, opening the city's newest hotspots.
"It's pretty awesome," said Dave Lee.
"I think it's great. I love it," said Roxanne Lee.
Concert goers arrived early, taking in the sights and sounds of opening night. Tulsa's own Admiral Twin acting as the unofficial opening act.
"I'm loving it. This is great, Tulsa needs this. It's a good thing for everybody, this is good for the economy," said Manny Bunny.
"Always been a fan. Always wanted to see them and now that they're close, I get to," said Sherri McClendon.
As concert time began to approach, the line snaked out from the BOK Center. Concert merchandise a hot commodity, some commemorating the historic night.
"The Eagles. The Eagles are here. I've been waiting so long to see them," said Roxanne Lee.
Age didn't seem to matter. Tyler Haisten was celebrating his 13th birthday.
"I love the Eagles, yeah," said Haisten.
After hours of waiting in line, days of waiting for the big show, and years of waiting for the BOK Center to take shape, it's finally here.
Tulsa has stepped on the national stage.
If you missed Saturday night's show, the Eagles will be back. The group added another stop at the BOK Center on November 11th; tickets went on sale Saturday morning.
