Some residents in north Tulsa are encouraging voters to vote, not for a particular candidate or cause, just to vote.

The Turley Community Center has put up this sign that reads, "Vote Tuesday, Celebrate Democracy" and on the other side it says "Thank You Candidates, Vote Tuesday."

They're hoping the sign will raise voter turnout especially in north Tulsa where historically voting is very low.

"One of the last highly contested races we had the presidential primary we only had about 36% of registered voters vote here in the north Tulsa area, and that's on a good day," said coordinator Ron Robinson.

And, with Tuesday being the 88th anniversary of woman being given the right to vote, Robinson hopes even more people will turn out to celebrate their right to vote.
