My visits to local companies continue! Last week, I was invited to speak at UPS and their Women's Development program. Employees from Tulsa and Oklahoma City gathered to hear my personal story about battling breast cancer. UPS is a sponsor of this year's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, and they're busy putting together a team.

You can be on a team as well! Get with co-workers, church members, school groups, family or friends. It's simple to register and if you don't have a team, join my team! Your registration fee will get you a race shirt and then if you want, you can gather donations to help meet our goal of $700,000!

Money raised during the race will be granted to local programs to help women in a variety of situations. Some of the money has helped pay for mammograms for women who can't afford them. Some of the money helps pay for treatment for patients who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.  One of the groups funded by Komen this year helped buy wigs for women who lost their hair to chemo. Seventy-five percent of the money raised stays right here in Tulsa County.

The team registration wraps up the end of August, so get registered today!
