Sperry residents celebrated a new chapter on Wednesday with the grand opening and dedication of their new public library.
The Judy Z. Kishner Library opened its doors at 10150 North Cincinnati Avenue. The new facility is completely donor funded and includes more than 20,000 books, magazines and newspapers. Plus, it has new computers and even a large conference room.
But, it's charm that sets it apart.
"It's built like a ranch home, and it has western décor. It's just very welcoming. We have a children's wall mural with barnyard animals. It's very homey," said Linda Saferite with the Tulsa City-County Library.
Library officials say the new facility will serve the Sperry community along with surrounding areas including Owasso and Skiatook.
