What to do about Tulsa's streets remains up in the air Friday.
The Tulsa City Council was set to vote Thursday night on a 12 year tax plan to spend $2 billion on streets. But some, including Tulsa Mayor Kathy Taylor, want a 5 year plan to get the process started.
Details on the shorter plan, backed by Mayor Kathy Taylor, were released Thursday
After a suggestion that, both, go on the ballot, city councilors decided to spend another week talking, despite objections from one councilor who supports the 12 year plan.
"None of the shorter plans achieve the same gains with the same dollars," said city councilor Bill Martinson. "We're either committed to fixing the streets, or we're not."
The delay keeps the mayor Kathy Taylor's plan alive; she wants the five year plan.
A majority of the city council still supports the longer version.
